Hamster_Boy’s Gallery

Hamster_Boy’s Dogs of War army is rather unique, not only using none-Games Workshop miniatures but also basing his entire army on Nippon, the Warhammer World version of Japan. Below are the pictures of his (unfinished) army, with his commentary from his post on the Forum.

“Asarnil! This is a Reaper Hill Dragon with a greenstuffed saddle and a Clan War rider. I converted his spear to a lance. He is also supposed to have a shield, but for Nippon reasons I may not actually model it.”

“Pikemen! These are Clan War minis, mostly out of print now, but widely available on Ebay. The slotta tabs needed a little love to fit in a GW base, but otherwise they rank perfectly. Many companies make Samurai minis, Old Glory seems to be the best size/range compatible, including command, but they are not slotta, so you will have to do some old-school green-stuffing to get the bases to look smooth.”

“My heavy Cavalry with no barding. Clan War minis from the cavalry expansion, no modification except for the GW bases.“

“These are from Black Orc / 100 Kingdoms. They are called Samurai Ogres, I field them as Ironguts with heavy armour and great weapons. The one primed black is the original (and only) pose, the other is my unit champion conversion. I have a total of 6 which I can field and 2 units of 3, or one big unit with champ and standard bearer.”
